These are a few of the photos from the staging I was a part of at DaDe ART & DESIGN LAB this summer. Credit to Brendan Klem for the lovely photos.
This is a perspective I drew and rendered at DaDe ART + DESIGN LAB.
I completed my internship at DaDe a couple months ago and just loved it. The people were amazing (miss you guys) and it was such an artistic, inspiring environment. I met so many cool people and learnt alot from all of them! I hope to cross paths with you guys again soon. I couldn't have asked for a better bunch to work with. DaDe specializes in modern furniture, chinese antiques and contemporary art. It is also a great space for events. For more information on DaDe ART + DESIGN LAB, go to dadegallery.com. I collaborated with the team at DaDe ART & DESIGN LAB to create this mood board that embodies the spirit of modern style with a DaDe edge. MODERN minimalism does not have to be cold. Omitting all non-essential or un-important elements and details which don't contribute to the overall composition in order to emphasize what is important. 1. I collaborated with the team at DaDe ART & DESIGN LAB to create this mood board that embodies the essence of transitional style with a DaDe flare. TRANSITIONAL can be warm & intimate, or it can be elegant & sophisticated, striking a perfect balance between contemporary & classic. 1. 'janelle at one second' by Jason Eng 2. I collaborated with the team at DaDe ART & DESIGN LAB to create this mood board which embodies the essence of traditional style done the DaDe way. TRADITIONAL is not about opulence, it is the harmony which has been perfected over the centuries. It is comfort rooted in integrity of the materials & the beauty of the classic silhouette. 1. bullfrog GERMANY model 1007 SESSEL chair 2. When I was in Saskatoon last, I had the opportunity to help stage the Wycliffe Penthouse for re-sale. I teamed with Art at Will and realtor Cindy Savino to rethink the space with some fresh art and accessories. We kept the owners original furniture and added a few pieces of art by Gail Prpick and Patrick Dowie and some fun accessories to spruce things up for re-sale. A little re-arragement, some creativity and a bit of art can go a long way!
I have always been inspired by the mod look of the British Flag. It reminds me of the swingin' 60's, Austin Powers and of course beautiful Great Britain. Lately this print is everywhere, and I couldn't be more happy about it. I put together a little inspiration board to show you all some of the possibilities of this fabulous print/ colour combination. Enjoy :)
On Tuesday, May 8th, I created my own inspiration board and blog post for DaDe ART & DESIGN LAB. Here it is! By the end of the week, I will have posted a couple other projects too. Stay posted! I think orange should be the official colour of happiness. There is something about it that never fails to make me smile. As Jonathan Adler would say, "Orange looks like you're living the California Dream". When Pantone released their colour of the year, Tangerine Dream, I was ecstatic. It was the perfect time for a burst of red-orange delight! I ordered myself a peach bellini and began to ponder the possibilities of this lovely new trend in design. 1. beacon by Bee Kingdom 2. 17-1463 TCX tangerine tango colour swatch by Pantone 3.
